The Second Vatican Council declared that all human being are called to union with God. This is known at “the universal call to holiness” and it can be studied in chapter 5 of Lumen Gentium.

An additional question that follows on this declaration is whether or not all human beings are called, already in this life, to contemplation, to contemplative prayer. That question has been much disputed in the past, and it is still new, unexplored territory for many people.

Here, at “Seeking the Face of God”, we want to explore this question and to discover how much contemplation should be part of our lives as ordinary believers.
